If you're looking for somewhere quiet, the Gann beach (also known as Pickleridge) is a much better choice than nearby Dale, and there is free roadside parking overlooking the beach with views up the Milford Haven waterway. A sea wall of boulders has been constructed here, forming a new shoreline. The coast path runs along this, and crosses the river Gann by a small bridge and stepping stones, which can be used for 3½ hours either side of low tide.
The beach consists of small sandstone pebbles, cockle shells and some sand. Behind the sea wall is a saltwater lagoon and the area is rich in bird life.
