Watwick Bay is situated approximately 1 mile south of the village of Dale at the mouth of the Milford Haven waterway. To get here from Dale, take the St Ann's Head road heading south for approximately three-quarters of a mile, then follow a footpath (track) on the left opposite a house. There is some space for roadside parking here. Continue south on this track for about another half a mile until you see a footpath on the left. It seems that some motorists park here as there is quite a bit of space although the track has (rather weathered) signs prohibiting vehicular access. The footpath leads across a short field to the coast path and the path to the beach is directly opposite.
There is also a good size free parking area at St Ann's Head.
The beach is firm sand surrounded by low sandstone cliffs, and looks out towards West Angle Bay on the opposite side of the waterway. It is good for sailing, swimming and windsurfing. It tends to become shady late in the afternoon and evening.
The photos were taken 1½ hours before low tide.
